mundum stands for:

DIGITAL X-RAY

A decisive advantage of “3-dimensional digital X-rays” is the 90% reduction in radiation exposure with each X-ray procedure. In addition, our dentists cannot see and examine all areas of the mouth as part of the diagnosis. In order to be able to finally assess the state of health of our patients, we examine – if necessary – with 3-dimensional, digital X-ray technology in the gentlest and most precise way.

Digital technology offers further advantages with this imaging process, in which a special digital storage film is exposed:

  • The tooth status can be assessed within seconds using a digitized tooth image, which is accessed on a monitor in the treatment room, and discussed with the patient.
  • The image quality is significantly higher compared to conventional images. The images can also be immediately edited on the computer if required. This shows tooth and bone structures that could not otherwise be examined.
  • A 3-dimensional representation of the area to be diagnosed is made possible.
  • The transfer and duplication of images is much easier.
  • Environmentally friendly, as analog X-ray films and the necessary developing chemicals, as were previously required, are no longer necessary with conventional X-rays.

DIGITAL VISION

With the addition of the so-called intra-oral camera, we gain more security through exact diagnoses. We record the area to be assessed with the camera and can view it on the computer screen in large format. This enables us to better recognize tooth damage and diseases and initiate effective therapies.

We also like to use the digitally enlarged image as part of educational discussions, as our patients are better able to recognize the need for treatment.

SCANNING TEETH

Our patients are happy to do without the analog, classic impression taking with unpleasant impression material. Instead, teeth are scanned with the help of the latest technology and forwarded digitally to our own laboratory. This is not only more pleasant for our patients, but also speeds up the process and eliminates potential sources of error in a classic impression.

DIGITAL DENTURES

For the most optimal production of digitally recorded and machine-made dentures, the integration of digital process chains in practice and laboratory is crucial. Thanks to the existing in-house laboratory, we have individually set up the interfaces and benefit from a short route to the dental technology. In this way, all computer-aided and machine-made work is individually checked and refined by our dental technician.

The dental technician processes the CAD/CAM model of the tooth to be repaired or the tooth gap. He also checks whether the dentures are manufactured using classic handcraft techniques or in the computer-controlled CEREC milling machine.

DIGITAL IMPLANTOLOGY

As part of “digital implantology”, we combine 3-dimensional X-ray diagnostics with computer-navigated implant planning. Based on the high-resolution image quality of digital X-ray diagnostics, which enables us to plan treatment exactly, we create an individual treatment template that precisely represents the position of the implant. In this way, we ensure maximum safety when placing the implants and precision when later supplying the dentures.

The exact, three-dimensionally defined implant position thus supports the treatment team in planning and realizing the desired, aesthetically sophisticated result. It reduces the severity of the procedure and shortens the subsequent treatment.

DIGITAL TOOTH STRAIGHTENING

With “SmileView” you can now virtually view your new smile in 60 seconds.
