Mehr InformationenInvisalign© Go is a variant of the Invisalign© system that was developed specifically to correct mild to moderate misalignments of the front teeth. Treatment is carried out with a series of transparent aligners. Each aligner is custom-made and moves the teeth into the desired position in small steps.
The aligners are made of crystal-clear plastic that is 0.7 mm thin. The material is allergologically safe and approved for medical use. Another advantage: treatment with Invisalign© Go takes place directly at your dentist. A visit to an orthodontist is not necessary.
Unlike traditional metal braces, aligners do not create pressure from wires or brackets. Tooth movement is gentle and even. When wearing the aligners, you may notice slight pressure at first, which indicates that the teeth are moving. As a rule, this does not cause pain.
Who is Invisalign© Go suitable for?
Invisalign© Go can generally be used once all baby teeth have been replaced by permanent teeth. On average, this is the case from around age 15. Teenagers and adults of any age can benefit from this method.
The treatment is suitable for the following misalignments:
- Crowding (teeth that are too close together)
- Spacing (gaps between the front teeth)
- Mild to moderate overbite or deep bite
- Rotated or crooked teeth
- Open bite or crossbite in the front-tooth area
Complex jaw misalignments that require comprehensive bite correction should still be treated by an orthodontist. Invisalign© Go does not fully replace traditional orthodontics. It is a targeted solution for front-tooth corrections, with clear limits.
Whether treatment is an option can only be determined after a thorough examination and a digital 3D scan. If you would like to learn more about how Invisalign Go teeth straightening works at our practice, you will find all the details about the treatment there.
Why crooked teeth are more than a cosmetic issue

Mehr InformationenMisaligned teeth are often seen as a purely aesthetic problem. That is not correct. Crooked or incorrectly positioned teeth can affect health on several levels.
Increased risk of cavities and periodontitis: Plaque builds up more easily on crowded or rotated teeth. Toothbrushes and floss have a harder time reaching these areas. The result is a higher risk of cavities and gum inflammation up to and including periodontitis.
Jaw joint strain: If the teeth do not meet evenly when chewing, the jaw joint is put under one-sided strain. This can lead to tension in the jaw, neck, and shoulder area, sometimes even chronic headaches.
Uneven chewing: If food is not broken down evenly, digestion is also put under greater strain. Poorly chewed food is harder to process.
Breathing problems: Certain misalignments, especially in the upper and lower jaw area, can affect the airways. In some cases, this can contribute to snoring at night.
Uneven tooth wear: Teeth that do not meet correctly wear down in the wrong places. Over time, they become more sensitive and more prone to cracks or damage.
Teeth straightening is therefore not just a decision for a more beautiful smile. It is also an investment in oral health and overall well-being.
How does Invisalign© treatment work?
The treatment follows a clear, digitally supported process in several steps.
Step 1: Initial consultation and 3D scan
At the first appointment, the teeth are scanned with a modern intraoral scanner. This takes about five minutes and is completely painless. Unpleasant rubber impressions are not required. The scanner creates a three-dimensional image of the teeth, which serves as the basis for the entire treatment plan.
Step 2: 3D simulation and treatment planning
Based on the scan, an outcome simulator is used to calculate what the teeth will look like after treatment. The result is visible even before the first aligner. The plan is sent to Align Technology, reviewed, and approved. The aligners are then manufactured using high-tech 3D printers.
Step 3: Fitting the aligners and follow-up appointments
At the second appointment, the first aligners are fitted together. Each aligner is worn for about one to two weeks, then replaced with the next one. Check-ups take place every six to eight weeks. Many aligners are sent to your home by post, so a visit to the practice is not necessary for every change.
On average, treatment lasts three to six months. More complex misalignments can take up to a year. A more precise estimate is only possible after the 3D scan.
After treatment is complete, so-called retainers are used. These keep the teeth permanently in their new position, as newly corrected teeth tend to shift back to their original position.
Summary
Invisalign© is now one of the most comfortable methods for correcting misaligned teeth. The transparent aligners are virtually invisible, removable, and suitable for everyday life. Teenagers and adults benefit equally from a treatment that involves neither dietary restrictions nor complex oral hygiene.
Anyone who dismisses crooked teeth as a purely cosmetic issue underestimates the possible health consequences: from an increased risk of cavities to jaw joint problems and uneven tooth wear. Teeth straightening is a long-term investment in your health.
